Family honors father with ‘herb’ garden

A special dedication this Father’s Day may be budding a new tradition at a local senior home. “To know him was to love him, that’s all I can say,” friend Charlotte Hillsberg said. And to know Herb Ouzer was to know his love of gardening. That’s why this Father’s Day, his family is dedicating a new “Herb” garden in his honor.

“It’s a wonderful tribute to my dad,” daughter Phyllis Bloom said. “He loved to garden, he loved to share the produce.” And he would share with other residents of The Summit at Brighton, the Jewish Senior Life home where he lived until he passed away in 2014 at age 100.
