The Summit at Brighton plants herb garden in honor of Herb Ouzer

On Father’s Day, independent living residence the Summit at Brighton honored Herb Ouzer, a former resident, by planting an herb garden in his name. Herb lived at the Summit at Brighton for four years before passing away in 2014 at age 100.

“It’s a wonderful tribute to my dad,” said his daughter, Phyllis Bloom. “He loved to garden; he loved to share the produce.”

Herb was known for growing tomatoes and bringing them to residents who were not able to come outside. Now the tradition continues, as the herbs grown in this new garden will be used in meals at the Summit.
