Jewish Home of Rochester Recognized as One of the Nation’s Top Nursing Homes

ROCHESTER, N.Y., December 20, 2017— Jewish Senior Life’s Jewish Home of Rochester has been nationally recognized for excellence in care, earning top awards from both U.S. News and World Report and NRC Health. The organization was named a U.S. News Best Nursing Home, which fewer than 15 percent of nursing homes achieved. Additionally, the Jewish Home ranked in the top 20 percent of nursing homes according to NRC Health, earning the Excellence in Action award for resident satisfaction.

“We know how difficult it is for people to pick the right nursing home for their loved ones, and we’re proud to be recognized as one of the best in the nation,” said Mike King, President and CEO of Jewish Senior Life. “These recognitions are incredibly meaningful, since we hold ourselves to the highest standards and work every day to make sure we’re providing exceptional care.”

U.S. News ranks nursing homes on a five-point scale, from 1 (Poor) to 5 (Top Performing). The Jewish Home of Rochester earned the Top Performing rating for demonstrating consistently high performance in national quality measures from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

“For the Best Nursing Homes, U.S. News analyzed objective data to arm consumers with the information and confidence they need to help them choose a home capable of providing the quality care seniors deserve,” said Ben Harder, Managing Editor and Chief of Health Analysis at U.S. News.

NRC Health selects its Excellence in Action winners based on a customer-satisfaction survey. Nursing homes rank in the top 20 percent based on the percentage of residents and family members who rated the facility as “Excellent.”

The Jewish Home of Rochester is licensed by the New York State Department of Health, is both Medicaid and Medicare certified and consistently receives high CMS ratings.
