Heroic Efforts Remembered on Holocaust Memorial Day

Spectrum News – Students from Hillel Community Day School joined with residents at the Jewish Home of Rochester to remember and honor the acts of heroism on Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day. They partnered as part of the “Better Together” program, a social and educational program that brings generations together. For the remembrance day, students from Destiny Christian Charter School joined them. Guest speaker Susan Singer, daughter of Jewish Home resident Peter Silverstein, spoke about her family’s story of survival. The event finished with a ceremony that included a candle lighting and prayer.
