Jewish Senior Life Celebrates New Staff Lounge

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — On Friday, January 17, 2020, Jewish Senior Life officially celebrated the grand opening of its newly renovated staff lounge with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The renovation is the first since the cafeteria was originally constructed in 1982.

The updated space offers employees a modern décor in a relaxed atmosphere. It features video games, board games and arcade games including foosball, air hockey and pinball.

“We began offering the games a few weeks before the grand opening, and they’ve been a big hit with our staff,” said Emy Giacalone, Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Staff Development. “It’s been wonderful to see the camaraderie among employees from all areas of the organization. We encourage employees to take breaks during the work day and have fun. After all, our employees are the heart of Jewish Senior Life.”

The staff lounge is located on the ground floor of the Jewish Home Farash Tower and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Jewish Senior Life was recently awarded certification as a Great Place to Work® by the Great Place to Work Institute, the global authority on high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures.
