Jewish Senior Life Distributes “Springtime Picnic Packages” to Employees

ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 16, 2020 – On Wednesday, April 15, Jewish Senior Life celebrated its dedicated staff by providing them special “Springtime Picnic Packages” to enjoy.

Partnering with Sysco Foods, Jewish Senior Life ordered 12,000 pounds (!) of picnic food. A team of employees, including members of the Leadership Team, worked to unload the truck, pack hundreds of bags and distribute to employees throughout all three shifts. In each Picnic Package were 3 pounds of hot dogs, 5 pounds of French fries, and 2 pounds of frozen corn—along with bottles of mustard and ketchup. More than 500 employees took home a Picnic Package.

“It’s so important to us to recognize our employees during these challenging times,” says Emy Giacalone, Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Staff & Organizational Development. “Everyone loves food, and this was a fun way to show our appreciation for all that our employees do for our residents, and for each other.”
