ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 6, 2020 — Jewish Senior Life, a leading care community for the last 100 years, will honor its team of 1,000+ employees with an Everyday Heroes Day on Thursday, May 7. Thursday marks the second day of National Nurse’s Week, and this year Jewish Senior Life is expanding its celebration to include employees in all departments, as they are all serving essential roles during the COVID-19 crisis.
As part of Everyday Heroes Day, Jewish Senior Life will roll out red carpets at each of their entrances. Members of the leadership team will greet staff, who will also enjoy a donut reception at the start of every shift. There will also be outdoor banners and posters displayed throughout campus to recognize every department at Jewish Senior Life.
“Each and every one of our employees plays a critical part in making sure we’re able to provide our residents with the best possible care and support 365 days a year,” said Michael King, President and CEO of Jewish Senior Life. “Whether they are on our medical team, our facilities team, or our cultural arts team — all of our employees are heroes and deserve to be recognized.”
Jewish Senior Life has been aggressive in working to keep the COVID-19 virus out of its campus at this time, and is taking added precautions to ensure all staff members are prepared to step outside their typical roles and provide added support to continue ensuring the health and safety of residents and fellow staff. All non-clinical staff have been trained and are available to help wherever it is needed, such as serving meals, stocking shelves and providing support to the clinical team.
In addition to Thursday’s Everyday Heroes celebration, Jewish Senior Life has been providing free family meals, onsite grocery shopping, counseling services and other programs to ease stress and show gratitude for its staff.
