The Jewish Home to hold vaccination clinics for its residents and staff

Rochester, N.Y., December 16, 2020 — The Jewish Home plans to hold vaccination clinics for its residents and staff starting Monday, December 21.

The Jewish Home vaccinations are being provided by CVS pharmacy, as directed by the New York State Department of Health. While the vaccination is elective, it is being highly encouraged for the safety of the Jewish Home community.

“We are very fortunate that nursing home residents and employees are at the top of the priority list to receive the vaccine,” says Marie Aydelotte, M.D., Vice President of Medical Services and Chief Medical Officer. “COVID can be deadly to older, frail adults, and the vaccine is critical to protecting them and our staff who care for them.”

The vaccine is administered in two doses. Clinics for the first dose are being held December 21 and 22, with the second dose vaccination clinics being held January 11 and 12.

“I’m excited to get the vaccine,” says Rakesh Sarpaul, a certified nursing assistant at the Jewish Home Green House Cottages. “It’s good for our residents, and it’s good for me and my family. I’m ready to take it!”

The Jewish Home is an affiliate of Jewish Senior Life.
