Two Jewish Senior Life Employees Honored as Health Care Heroes

Rochester, NY—May 11, 2021—Jewish Senior Life announces that two of its employees have been honored as 2021 Health Care Heroes Award recipients by the Rochester Business Journal. The awards recognize excellence, promote innovation and honor the efforts of local organizations and individuals making a significant impact on the quality of health care in the Rochester area.

The following individuals from Jewish Senior Life have been recognized:

  • Michele Schirano, SVP/Administrator, Jewish Home was honored in the Senior Care category for very effectively managing the spread of COVID-19 on the Jewish Senior Life She recognized early on the importance of visibility with staff and residents, implementing weekly video communications to staff, pivoting quickly to provide the latest technology to keep residents engaged with loved ones, and ensuring staff felt safe and protected coming into work.
  • Alpha Daramy, Certified Nursing Assistant, Memory Care Household, Jewish Home, was honored in the Health Care Staff category for the excellent care and comfort he provides to residents with memory care challenges. His performance receives high marks from his peers and supervisors, as well as the residents he cares for and the residents’ family members. He is truly making a difference in the lives of older adults and their families in our community.
