Information on Visiting

Throughout this pandemic, the entire Jewish Senior Life campus has taken a very safe and conservative approach to protect our residents and staff, and we will continue this approach going forward.  We continue to follow the CDC and NYS Department of Health guidelines for infection control.

Jewish Home of Rochester Visitation Policy (Jewish Home Farash Tower and Cottages)

We are currently open for scheduled visitation.  You can schedule for visit through our online scheduling system.

General guidelines about visiting, effective July 20, 2021:

Visitation/face mask wearing

  • If the resident is fully vaccinated they can choose to have close contact (including touch) with an unvaccinated visitor while both are wearing a face mask in the resident room.
  • If both the resident and visitor are fully vaccinated, the resident and visitor may have close contact (including touch) without a face mask in the residents room (We encourage all  visitors to still wear a face mask.)
  • Face masks are required to be worn when not in resident rooms

Dining/Programming

  • Group programming and communal dining for our residents may occur without social distancing and without face masks if all participants are fully vaccinated.
  • If a resident is not fully vaccinated they must social distance and wear a face mask.

The Jewish Home of Rochester has also extended the visiting hours to 9:30 am-8:00 pm daily with a maximum of 2 people visiting at a time.  Please continue to be screened and obtain a visitor sticker at the concierge desk prior to arriving on your loved one’s home.

We are providing COVID-19 Vaccinated Badges to routine visitors who provide their vaccine information.  The badges are available for pickup at the concierge desk.

Families may now join their loved ones at any of our off-home activity programs. This means that you are more than welcome to join your loved one at a program in the community rooms in the Cottages, outdoors on our campus or at programs within the main building in the Sands Center or Art Room.

Unfortunately, programs that are being held in individual homes within the cottages or on the households within the Jewish Home Farash Tower are not opened up for families to attend. These areas are for residents only as they are shared common areas within our campus.
