Jewish Senior Life to Host Second Annual Rosh Hashanah Car Parade

Rochester, NY — August 31, 2021 — Jewish Senior Life will sound the shofar a little early to celebrate the Jewish New Year with their second annual Rosh Hashanah Car Parade on Thursday, September 2, from 10:45 to 11:15 AM. The organization has traditionally hosted large gatherings in their auditoriums for the High Holidays, but introduced the parade during last year’s pandemic to provide residents an opportunity to celebrate in a socially distant way.

Jewish Senior Life’s Rabbi, Steven Rubenstein, and Board Chair, Bob Baker, will lead the parade. “After a successful Shanah Tovah Car Parade last year, we are excited to make this an annual tradition,” says Baker. “Rosh Hashanah is a time to celebrate all the best things in life – good health, happiness, hope, peace, and prosperity. We look forward to a joyful New Year with our Jewish Senior Life family.”

This year’s parade will consist of residents’ families, Town of Brighton first responders, and intergenerational partners from the Jewish Federation’s PJ Library who work closely with Jewish Senior Life. Residents in the Jewish Home Farash Tower and Green House Cottages can enjoy the parade outside while safely distanced, with some residents partaking through their windows.
