Jewish Senior Life Presents Judd Wexler Celebration of Veterans

(November 9, 2022 – ROCHESTER, NY) On Friday, November 11, Jewish Senior Life will host a full day of events across the campus to celebrate residents who are military veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Funds for the first annual Judd Wexler Celebration of Veterans were provided by Wexler’s daughter, Donna Cohen, to honor her father. Wexler was a marine who served in WWII and lived at The Summit at Brighton, and eventually, the Green House Cottages.

“Our donor, Donna Cohen, truly believes in the importance of honoring veterans, as do all of us at Jewish Senior Life, and doesn’t want them to be forgotten. We have approximately 80 veterans across the Jewish Senior Life campus and we see this as a wonderful opportunity not only for a daughter to remember and honor her father’s service, but to celebrate all of our residents who served and sacrificed for the benefit of our nation. Celebrating them on Veterans Day is one important way we can all say thank you,” says Thomas McDade Clay, Executive Director at the Jewish Senior Life Foundation.

Programming will commence at 11:30 a.m. at the Green House Cottages, followed by afternoon events at The Summit, Wolk Manor, and The Lodge at 2:00 p.m. Residents will enjoy lunch, entertainment, and pinning ceremonies. The Jewish Home of Rochester will host the final event of the day at 4:00 p.m. with a flag presentation in the parking loop in front of Farash Tower. Residents of the Jewish Home will enjoy dinner, a pinning ceremony, and entertainment immediately following the flag ceremony.
