Jewish Senior Life Employees Honored by LeadingAge New York

(November 18, 2022 – ROCHESTER, NY) LeadingAge New York recently honored staff at Jewish Senior Life with their annual Employee of Distinction awards. The award recognizes the extraordinary dedication of direct and indirect service employees who are not part of upper level management. Up to 16 awards are presented in this category in 8 regions across the state. Of the 4 winners in the Greater Rochester region, 2 are employed by Jewish Senior Life. Nicole Morabito, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Jewish Home of Rochester, and Hamid Kharmaz, Resident Assistant Team Lead at Wolk Manor, were nominated by several leaders and co-workers for their exemplary performance.

Deborah Wegman, Vice President of Nursing Services, says of Morabito, “Nicole is a caring, dedicated employee, always striving to make others happy. She is frequently recognized by families for the wonderful, attentive care she provides to her residents. She has great interpersonal skills, a caring personality, and is a genuine advocate for residents and families, ensuring their needs are met when she is working and even when she is not.”

Susan Bussey, Senior Vice President of Housing, describes her time working with Kharmaz, “I have witnessed Hamid’s dedication and respect for our residents on a daily basis. Hamid has a strong work ethic and takes the opportunity to ensure that he is meeting their needs every time he comes in to work. He is also a very kind and compassionate person to both our residents and team members. He doesn’t hesitate to lend a helping hand to coworkers when needed.”

LeadingAge New York’s Annual Awards recognize the very best of New York’s nonprofit long term care, housing and services providers; and the people who contribute their time, energy and professionalism to the field of aging.
