Rochester Business Journal Announces 2023 Health Care Heroes Recipients: Three Jewish Senior Life Employees Recognized

(February 9, 2023 – ROCHESTER, NY) Rochester Business Journal has selected three Jewish Senior Life employees as 2023 Health Care Heroes recipients. The annual RBJ Health Care Heroes awards recognize excellence, promote innovation, and honor the efforts of individuals and organizations making a significant impact on the quality of health care in the Rochester area.

Regina Moyd, Certified Nursing Assistant, will be recognized in the Health Care Staff category for her 35-year commitment to health care at Jewish Senior Life, as well as her empathetic nature working on the Lipson Memory Care Unit. Ann Barton, Program Director at Marian’s House, will be honored in the Senior Care category, for her creative therapeutic recreation programming and caring leadership, as well as her ability to maintain the Marian’s House respite program despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Michael Celento, Neurobehavioral Unit (NBU) Program Director, will be acknowledged in the Management category for his demonstrated leadership, innovation, and his overall impact on the superior level of care Jewish Senior Life provides. Jewish Senior Life’s NBU is one of the first of its kind in Rochester and allows individuals to receive specialized care locally instead of having to travel for services.

Michael S. King, President and CEO at Jewish Senior Life says, “We are very fortunate to have these heroes as part of our team every day. On behalf of all of our Jewish Senior Life residents and staff, we are extremely grateful for their contributions and the compassionate care they provide to our residents, patients, clients, guests, as well as their families and caregivers.”

“The 2023 Health Care Heroes have demonstrated extraordinary efforts, particularly during challenging times. Their tireless and dedicated work to provide the best possible care to patients and their families has made a significant impact on the Greater Rochester area,” says Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, senior group publisher of the Rochester Business Journal. “We at the Rochester Business Journal celebrate and congratulate this year’s Health Care Heroes and thank them for all they have done and will do for our community.”

Winners will be honored at a breakfast celebration on Tuesday, March 28, at the Hyatt Regency Rochester, 125 East Main Street in Rochester. Registration and networking begin at 8:30 a.m., breakfast is served at 9 a.m. and the awards presentation takes place at 9:45 a.m. Honorees will be profiled in a special magazine that will be included in the March 31 issue of the Rochester Business Journal and will be available online at RBJ.net.
