Are you accepting new residents?
Yes. Please contact our admissions team at (585) 784-6395 or admissions@jewishseniorlife.org to get more information and answer your questions.
Are you offering tours?
While we cannot have guests on our campus at this time, we are happy to discuss your questions by phone or e-mail, as well as share information by e-mail or mail. We also have virtual tours available on our website.
Do you allow visitors?
We are following guidelines from CDC and the New York Department of Health. For our current status and policy on visitation, please click here.
How are you protecting residents from the spread of COVID-19?
- Screening. All employees are screened upon arrival every day, for every shift. This includes taking temperatures and screening for signs of respiratory illness.
- Face Masks & Shields. Strict infection prevention and control procedures are in place at Jewish Senior Life. All employees are required to wear surgical masks, and any employee within six feet of others must also wear a protective face shield. Social distancing of at least six feet is monitored and strictly enforced.
- JSLAdvantageTM This exclusive program ensures that our care is complemented by the highest standards of environmental safety and sanitization to protect from the spread of COVID-19. JSLAdvantage best-practice health and safety standards exceed guidelines from the CDC and Department of Health. Highly-trained staff conducts frequent, rigorous decontamination procedures supplemented by the use of innovative technology.
- SteraMist® Surface Unit. Used daily, this unit uses “No-Touch Disinfection” by producing a fine mist of hydrogen peroxide that kills 99.99% of bacteria and viruses on all types of surfaces within minutes.
- The UV Rapid Disinfecting Unit. This ultraviolet disinfecting machine is the same as used by many hospitals to prevent disease contamination. It is custom-programmed to help fight against COVID-19, and is used in any area which is at a higher risk of exposure.
- iCleanse Swift XL®. This disinfects high-touch mobile devices, tablets and remotes, effectively killing 99.9% of most pathogens in as little as 30 seconds.
- Laminate Protective Barriers. These are installed indoors and outdoors across the campus to ensure social distancing for our residents and staff where it’s needed.
How are residents staying active and engaged?

How do you communicate with family members of residents?
- We hold regular conference calls with families. Calls are hosted by Michele Schirano RN, Senior Vice President & Administrator of the Jewish Home; Susan Bussey, Senior Vice President of Housing; and Marie Aydelotte MD, Medical Director and recording of these calls are available on our website.
- Timely updates are communicated by mail and e-mail.
