Jewish Senior Life Named Great Place To Work®

Rochester, NY, November 6, 2019 – Jewish Senior Life was recently awarded certification as a Great Place to Work® by the Great Place to Work Institute, the global authority on high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures.

Great Place to Work, which produces the annual Fortune magazine “100 Best Companies to Work For®” list, evaluated more than 60 elements of team members’ experience on the job for employees across the Jewish Senior Life organization, including areas such as independent living, memory care, in home companion care, and long term care. The elements included employee trust in the organization, pride in the organization’s community impact, belief that their work makes a difference, and feeling their work has special meaning. Rankings are based on employees’ experiences, no matter who they are or what they do.

“I’m thankful to our dedicated employees for this honor, as they continue to serve our residents and community with purpose and passion and enhance our residents’ quality of life, health and well-being every day,” said Michael King, President and CEO of Jewish Senior Life. “Employee engagement is about so much more than providing great benefits. We prioritize a healthy workplace culture in many ways, including meaningful employee recognition programs, continuous education and career path development opportunities, and more.”

“We’ve received community accolades for employee satisfaction for the past few years,” said Emy Giacalone, Jewish Senior Life’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Staff & Organizational Development. “We are particularly proud to now be recognized as a top employer by a global research firm that works with esteemed organizations such as Wegmans, Hilton and Marriott.”

“We applaud Jewish Senior Life for seeking certification and releasing its employees’ feedback,” said Dr. Jacquelyn Kung, of Great Place to Work’s senior care affiliate Activated Insights. “These ratings measure its capacity to earn its own employees’ trust and create a great workplace for high performance.”

Jewish Senior Life is one of the largest non-profit employers in Rochester, with more than 1,000 employees.
