LeadingAge New York Honors Jewish Senior Life Nurse with Employee of Distinction Award

Yolanda Myhand-McNeil, L.P.N.

(October 23, 2023 – ROCHESTER, NY) Jewish Senior Life is pleased to announce that Yolanda Myhand-McNeil, Licensed Practical Nurse, has been honored with a LeadingAge New York Employee of Distinction award. The award was created to acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of direct and indirect care staff; and to provide patients, residents, and other employees the opportunity to recognize individuals who have demonstrated a willingness to make personal sacrifices to improve the lives of others.

Myhand-McNeil assists with training new nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants in addition to caring for residents at the Jewish Home. “Yolanda is a genuine and caring nurse who has always presented herself with levelheadedness and grace,” says Jackie Felker, Vice President of Nursing at Jewish Senior Life. She continues, “Yolanda has such a rapport with both her families and residents that they all feel more at ease when she is working. She’s an excellent mentor to new nurses, and is an outstanding example for the nursing profession. I am truly glad she is a part of the team.”

Pamela Weeks, Registered Nurse and Nurse Manager, says, “Yolanda is always willing to help out her fellow co-workers—such as assisting the CNAs with any challenging behaviors from residents or lending fellow nurses a hand when they need to understand or learn something new. She is kind, personable, and always keeps us laughing with her unique views of people. Her leadership is like no other.”

Myhand-McNeil has worked at Jewish Senior Life for two years and is currently pursuing her goal to become a Registered Nurse.
