Jewish Senior Life to Host Second Annual Judd Wexler Celebration of Veterans

(November 2, 2023 – ROCHESTER, NY) On Friday, November 10, Jewish Senior Life will host its second Judd Wexler Celebration of Veterans to recognize residents who are military veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Support for this annual event is generously provided by Donna and Bruce Cohen to honor Donna’s father, Judd Wexler. Wexler was a marine who served in WWII and lived at The Summit at Brighton, and eventually, Jewish Home’s Green House Cottages.

“This year, we will celebrate roughly 70 veterans living across the Jewish Senior Life campus,” says Thomas McDade Clay, Executive Director at Jewish Senior Life Foundation. He continues, “We are incredibly grateful to our donors, Donna and Bruce Cohen; and share their desire to honor veterans and ensure that their bravery, sacrifice, and service to our nation doesn’t go unnoticed. It is our pleasure to make this a special day for our veterans and say thank you for all they have done.”

Residents will enjoy a ceremony and gifts to honor their service, along with lunch and musical entertainment. Each veteran will receive an embroidered plush blanket and a commemorative service coin housed in a decorative display case. Ceremonies will commence at 10:30 a.m. at the Jewish Home, 11:30 a.m. at Green House Cottage 2, and noon at The Summit at Brighton, Wolk Manor, and The Lodge.
