Jewish Home of Rochester Recognized as a Best Nursing Home by Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report

(November 17, 2023 – ROCHESTER, NY) Jewish Home of Rochester, an affiliate of Jewish Senior Life, has once again made the prestigious Best Nursing Homes lists in both Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report.

Jewish Home was ranked #3 on Newsweek’s America’s Best Nursing Homes in New York; and this is the third consecutive year the organization has made the list. Newsweek partners with global data research firm, Statista, to analyze performance data, resident satisfaction, peer recommendations, management of COVID-19, and accreditations from The Joint Commission and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

Jewish Home has additionally been recognized in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes six times; and for the past three years, has been named “High Performing” in both the Long-Term Care and Short-Term Rehabilitation categories. Only 3% of skilled nursing facilities across the country earned this achievement. The Long-Term Care rating evaluates medical and nonmedical care for residents who need daily assistance; and the Short-Term Care rating assesses the quality of post-acute care for patients recovering from a hospital stay.

“We are incredibly honored to be recognized again as a Best Nursing Home by U.S. News & World Report and Newsweek,” says Michele Schirano, Senior Vice President and Administrator at Jewish Home. She continues, “We have the good fortune of working here each day—witnessing firsthand the compassionate care provided by our employees to the people we serve, and also hearing positive stories from our residents, patients, and their families. It’s a pleasure to be entrusted to care for people’s loved ones. Earning these achievements year after year only reinforces the high quality of life we provide at the Jewish Home and across our continuum of care on the Jewish Senior Life campus.”
