Jewish Senior Life Recognized as one of America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities

(December 1, 2023 – ROCHESTER, NY) Jewish Senior Life—a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and the only provider of Life Care in the Greater Rochester area—has been named to Newsweek’s inaugural list of America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities 2024. Jewish Senior Life ranked #5 in New York State and in the top third of the 250 communities designated as America’s best. According to Newsweek, there are approximately 2,000 CCRCs across the U.S.

Newsweek partners with global data research firm, Statista, to analyze national survey data gathered from medical professionals, staff, and residents. Survey participants were asked to rate the following quality dimensions on a scale of 1-10: accommodations, commercial services, community services, financial factors, food, overall care, overall safety measures, and overall staffing. Jewish Senior Life’s recent reaccreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) was also considered.

Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) offer long-term care options—allowing residents to access a full continuum of care as medical needs progress. Jewish Senior Life offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing Care, Memory Care, Green House Cottages, and a full spectrum of programs and services to support older adults and their families.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities,” says Wendy Ferrer, Senior Vice President of Housing and Marketing. She continues, “Communities like ours make it easy to access living options and services based on changes to individual needs. We are known for high-quality, innovative care and we are honored to welcome all those who choose to join our vibrant community and call Jewish Senior Life home.”
