Students and elders celebrate Hanukkah

WROC TV 8 – The young and the young at heart got the chance to come together in celebration of Hanukkah Thursday. It was part of a program launched in October that gives students of the Hillel Day School and elders at the Jewish Senior Life Center a chance to interact. both groups benefit from the experience.

Celebrating Centenarians at Jewish Senior Life

Brighton-Pittsford Post – On Nov. 18 at the Summit at Brighton, Jewish Senior Life invited residents who are 100 years of age or older and live in their independent and assisted living communities to do just that — enjoy a lunch together to celebrate their birthdays and exchange stories about how they got to where they are today.

Parkinson’s Therapy Teaches Patients to be ‘Big & Loud’

TWC News – Linda Unger’s early onset Parkinson’s disease was diminishing her ability to walk and talk. That’s when she starting coming to the Jewish Senior Life’s Atkin Center for Outpatient Rehabilitation, where therapists use LSVT Big and Loud treatments to improve communication and movement in Parkinson’s patients. 

Jewish Senior Life Earns Quality Accreditation

Brighton-Pittsford Post – Jewish Senior Life has earned its second consecutive five-year CARF-CCAC accreditation from CARF International, an independent, nonprofit accrediting body of continuing care retirement communities and similar human services organization.
