OACES: Community leaders want adult learning program funding restored

13WHAM – Community leaders including the Rochester Teachers Association, Action for a Better Community, Roc Acts, Rochester Community of Churches and members of Jewish Senior Life gathered on Tuesday pushing the city school district to restore over a million dollars back into the programs budget.

Brighton-Pittsford Post – Herb was known for growing tomatoes and bringing them to residents who were not able to come outside. Now the tradition continues, as the herbs grown in this new garden will be used in meals at the Summit.

The Summit at Brighton plants herb garden in honor of Herb Ouzer

Brighton-Pittsford Post – On Father’s Day, independent living residence the Summit at Brighton honored Herb Ouzer, a former resident, by planting an herb garden in his name. Herb lived at the Summit at Brighton for four years before passing away in 2014 at age 100.

TWC News – A special dedication this Father’s Day may be budding a new tradition at a local senior home. “To know him was to love him, that’s all I can say,” friend Charlotte Hillsberg said.

TWC News Evening – The $83 million project will transform the long-term care housing into a more homelike setting for residents. Jewish Senior Life President Mike King says the new living spaces will off the opportunity to create a higher standard of living.
